How early to leave
For international flights, aim to be at the terminal three hours ahead. From Nungwi that means leaving roughly four and a half hours before departure; from the east coast, four.
Add thirty minutes for a pre-dawn departure in the rainy season.
At the airport
The international terminal is compact and queues for check-in and security build quickly when two flights leave together.
Have your passport and departure documents accessible before you get out of the car.
Booking the return
Book your return transfer at the same time as your arrival. The price is agreed once, and your driver already knows the hotel and the road.
